Cycle Phases
There are four different phases of the menstrual cycle: menstruation, the follicular phase, ovulation and luteal phase. To understand the time it is first necessary to explain the other phases.
Follicular
The follicular phase is the period between the first day of menstruation, passed around ovulation. In this phase, the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is released from the pituitary gland. FSH causes 10 to 20 start for the development of follicles in the ovaries. Developing follicles produce estrogen, which thickens the uterine lining (endometrium) in preparation causes for the possible insertion of a fertilized egg (1). Normally, only one of these follicles matures into an ovum (egg) with other degeneration. The length of the follicular phase can vary considerably depending on the time of ovulation.
Ovulation
Estrogen during the follicular phase leads to a distribution of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). This will increase the pituitaryand production of both luteinizing hormone (LH) and FSH. The LH surge triggers ovulation, the release of eggs from the ovaries. After ovulation the egg in the fallopian tube and removal of the uterus is swept. If no fertilization takes place the egg dissolves within 6 to 24 hours.
Luteal
This phase is the time of ovulation until the beginning of menstruation. During this phase, the rest of the follicles from which the egg was released to return to the corpus luteum. The corpus luteum secretes large amounts of the hormone progesterone and estrogen. These hormones contribute to the larger increase and maintain the uterine lining. If fertilization does not occur, the corpus luteum begins to degenerate and fall of progesterone, leading to the dissolution of the garrison.
Women find changes that may be a different place in this phase, including offering or nodules, fluid retention and swelling. The mood swings, fatigue and feelings of fear, anger and sadness can also cCommon at this time.
Menstruation
